Shi Yue

Shi Yue serves at Peking University as Assistant Director of the Institute of Country and Region Studies. He is an associate professor at the School of Foreign Languages, and also serves as the Director of the Center for Central Asian Studies, PKU. He earned his Ph.D. in History from Georgetown University (USA). His main academic interests include Geopolitics and modern history of Central Asia. He is the author of Russia's Conquest and Rule of Central Asian Steppe: From Orenburg to Tashkent (Oriental Publishing Center, China Publishing Group, 2023), and the editor of Kazakhstan in Global Perspectives (Xinhua Publishing House, 2020), The CKU Railway and China-Central Asia Cooperation (Xinhua Publishing House, 2024).
