The salon titled "Analysis of China's policy toward Central and Eastern Europe & innovation in theoretical approaches in area studies" was presented by Liu Zuokui, deputy director of the Institute of European Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The presentation focused on China's policy toward Central and Eastern Europe from the four perspectives of concept, mechanism development, status quo and future prospects, and also discussed innovation in theoretical approaches in area studies. Based on both practical experience and theoretical knowledge, Prof. Liu also explored the inspiration and significance of innovation for today’s area studies. The salon was moderated by Prof. Zan Tao, deputy director of the Institute of Area Studies, Peking University.
