In light of the recent sudden major changes in the situation on the Korean Peninsula, the Institute of Area Studies, Peking University (PKUIAS) held the Fifth Broadyard Workshop (博雅工作坊), titled "Northeast Asia Region Studies," on April 21. More than ten experts and academics from PKU, the Party School of the Central Committee of CPC, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, East China Normal University, and Northeast Normal University participated in the workshop.

Their discussion covered such problems as the characteristics of the recent changes happened to Korean Peninsula's situation, the reasons behind the changes, potential challenges in the future, and how China should respond to those challenges.
