The 47th lecture in the “Adventus Amicorum” series, titled “Europe’s Future and China’s Past,” was held by the Institute of Area Studies, Peking University (PKUIAS) on March 24, 2025. The lecture was given by Lorenzo Marsili, an Italian philosopher and social activist. PKU professors Wu Fei (Philosophy) and Duan Demin and Pang Liang (School of Government), and University of Kassel Professor You Mi (Art and Economies) participated in the discussion. The lecture was hosted by Prof. Zhang Yongle, deputy director of PKUIAS.

The 46th lecture of the “Adventus Amicorum” salon series was held on March 4, 2025, by the Institute of Area Studies, Peking University (PKUIAS). During the salon, Prof. Thomas Duve, director of the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory and professor for Comparative Legal History at the Faculty of Law, Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, shared his thoughts on the topic, "Global Legal History and Comparative Law."

On December 11, 2024, the 43rd session of the "Adventus Amicorum" seminar series organized by the Institute of Area Studies, Peking University (PKUIAS) took place at No. 66, Yannanyuan.

The 41st lecture of the "Adventus Amicorum" seminar series hosted by the Institute of Area Studies, Peking University (PKUIAS), was held on December 7, 2024. This forum, themed “2025 Frontier and Interdisciplinary Area Studies: Building Smart City in a Changing World,” was part of the framework of the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). The lecture featured the following speakers: Prof. Wang Dong, director of the Institute for Global Cooperation and Understanding (iGCU); Prof. Zhai Kun, deputy director of PKUIAS; Prof. Chen Xi, dean of the Institute for Urban Internationalization Studies at Zhejiang International Studies University; and Nurul Amillin Hussain, an assistant professor at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

The 40th lecture of the "Adventus Amicorum" salon series hosted by the Institute of Area Studies, Peking University (PKUIAS), which also served as the 360th lecture of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences at Peking University, was held on December 6, 2024.

On December 6, 2024, Prof. Amitav Acharya gave a lecture titled “The Role of the Global South in a Multiplex World” at the Institute of Area Studies, Peking University (PKUIAS).
